It's been a long time coming but the nice weather has arrived in Philadelphia. (I hope I didn't jinx us all by typing that.) The warmer weather brings blossoming trees and outdoor events. Below are my five picks for the finally-it-feels-like-spring weekend.
1. Dining Out For Life Food Truck Pop Up
Saturday, April 14 from 11 am - 3 pm | Rain or shine
1300 block of Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107
The 6th Annual Food Truck Pop Up, part of Dining Out For Life Philadelphia, generously donates 33% of cales for the day to Action Wellness. Brews by Yards Brewery and food from these participating food trucks.
2. Take a Hike!
Get inspired by 11 Hikes Near Philadelphia With Waterfalls and Gorgeous Views.
3. Liberty Square Launch Event
Saturday, April 14 + Sunday, April 15 from 12 - 5 pm
608 N 5th St, Philadelphia, PA 19123
Take a stroll around Northern Liberties, have brunch - Standard Tap, North Third, The Abbaye, Honey's, Cafe La Maude, Green Eggs, Cantina and then walk over to see Liberty Square's newly finished model unit at 608 N. 5th Street. Yours truly will be hosting the open house from 12-2:30 pm.
4. Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia:Sakura Sunday
Sunday, April 15 from 10 am - 5 pm
Fairmount Park Horticulture Center, 100 N Horticultural Dr, Philadelphia, PA 19131
Celebrate traditional and contemporary Japan under the cherry blossoms in Fairmount Park. Sakura Sunday is an all-day celebration of all things Japanese, from live music, dance, and martial arts performances to fashion shows, arts and crafts, karaoke, and much more.
It's held at Fairmount Park’s Horticulture Center, home to hundreds of blooming cherry trees – including two from 1926. Bring family, friends, pets, and a picnic and enjoy a beautiful day of arts and culture beneath the blossoms!
5. Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival
Sunday, April 15 from 11 am - 5 pm
Main St, Philadelphia, PA 19127
More than 50 food trucks and food vendors set up on Main Street in Manayunk for this spring's StrEAT Food Festival. In addition to awesome eats, the event features live entertainment for local musicians and plenty of alfresco shopping.
